The threat of rain did not stop our brave band of suffragists from marching in the Glen Cove Memorial Day parade yesterday, and we were amply rewarded with cheers and waves from enthusiastic crowds that lined the streets. For many this parade was an introduction to our group, formed to celebrate the centennial of women winning the vote in 1917 in New York, and later in 1920 throughout the nation. We hope we piqued their interest – and that such interest will endure.
