My new book, New York’s Remarkable Women: Daughters, Wives, Sisters and Mothers who Shaped History has just been issued by the Globe Pequot Press.
This book is a second edition of my first book, More Than Petticoats: Remarkable New York Women, published in 2000. The chapters have been updated, with two new chapters added. The book is not all about suffragists, but does feature several, such as Amelia Jenks Bloomer, and Dorothy Day. It also features a chapter about the fascinating story of the WASPs, the Women Air Force Service Pilots from World War II who battled for military recognition, and just recently won the right to be buried in Arlington and other National Cemeteries.
It can be purchased from Amazon, and wherever fine books are sold. I hope you will enjoy it!
Congratulations to one of the most remarkable women I have had the pleasure of associating with.
