Thanks for Trailblazer Award from Delia DeRiggi-Whitton

My sincere thanks goes to Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton of Nassau Legislative District 11 for designating me her Trailblazer for 2016. Each year Nassau legislators celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring the work and achievement of one woman from each of their districts. I was thrilled to be chosen this year and honored to be among such a distinguished group of women.
Scan 1Delia announced the award focused on my study and writings about women’s history, especially my work celebrating the women suffrage movement on Long Island. In the past she offered me an opportunity to introduce centennial plans to the entire Legislature, as well as joining in those plans herself.I am very grateful for her continued encouragement on that issue, and on other issues affecting all women.

My husband Jack shared in the celebration, as he too has been unstintingly supportive.

Bravo, Antonia. This is a very well deserved award. Your activism in this arena has been indefatigable.
