Marker Dedication! Please come!

The Town of Huntington is dedicating an historical marker honoring suffragist Ida Bunce Sammis at noon on Wednesday, March 27, at Ida’s former home, 70 Main Street in Huntington. It was at this home that Ida held rallies and meetings promoting women’s right to vote.

In addition to being an active suffragist, Ida Bunce Sammis was one of the first two women elected to the State Assembly in 1919. Please join us in honoring this wonderful woman who worked so hard to insure equality for all.
